CHURCH

Growing up my mom used to say we must never miss a day of church. She will say no matter what happened, or what you did the day or night before make sure you get yourself to church the next day.My dad on the other hand will say no one will remain in his house on a Sunday, meaning as kids we went first to: Sunday school then church every Sunday whether we felt like it or not. As a result I never miss a day of church I mean never, I just don't! If I have to I attend the evening service because I was doing something in the mornig, but will not miss church period. Now that I am a big girl I know that going to church is not just something I was taught by my parents but that its an instruction from the word of God. One instruction I don't have a problem following because of the practise I''ve had through the years. One thing that always rings a bell about what my mom taught me is God is not intimidated with whatever I did the week or day  prior to coming to church. I never feel undeserving of going to church in fact I always feel I have to go no matter what and the results are always phenomenal.

Today was such a day, I am not with family I stay by myself and it can get pretty hectic at times. As its my custom I went to the house of God today and boy was it wonderful. The Holy Spirit was moving so sweetly during the praise and worship I knew I had family right here.I had such wonderful time and now I fully understand why God made this an instruction. After all every instruction in his word is always for our benefit. I was reminded of this song my sister Betty taught us growing up while in church and it says:

Perhaps church is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It is there to keep you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
Even if you loose yourself
And don't know what to do
The memory of the cross
Will bring you home

Upon coming back I know that is all I needed sharing praise and the word with brethren.I am glad I know what I know!
