BEING A DAUGHTER

I thought Mother's day was going to be heavy on me this year. Everyone around me seems to be a mother. My one partner in "not now" your aunt, just had a baby. I mean everyone around me is now some body's mom. I  started thinking about some titles I hold and have held all my life. One that brought calmness to my Spirit was the role of being someones daughter. I was particularly reminded of  being a daughter in the house of God. The is something my Pastor always does every time he sees me. He will look at me and say 'my daughter ' just before hugging me. It doesn't matter how long it had been, this is how he always addresses me.With this comes a sense of belonging and being loved. I know I am a daughter in the house. As a result I try to be as responsible as possible, I serve in the house of God, he sends me and I run. This gives me pleasure! Then the is your grandpa, he fondly calls me "moradi"sotho for daughter. No one else calls me this but my dad. He calls all his daughters like this, in fact I know of some friends who like to impersonate how he calls us. Being his daughter is something I love and enjoy so much. All I had to do was be born. My father loves me, this is one fact I don't think I'll ever doubt  and being his daughter is permanent and oh such a pleasure. When I am home I like to sleep late,usually my dad will be up  doing some errands and when he comes back first thing I'll hear from my room is him asking if I'm  still around. This always warms my heart and I am almost certain no man can love me like papa does.

With yesterday being Mother's day while talking to my mom, I learned something new about her.I find I do this a lot in recent years especially because I am now a women. My mother is "every women" she is tough yet gentle. She is the main  reason we are still together as a family! Being her daughter, I see a lot of her in me. Pastor when addressing women yesterday said as born again mother's their children had no business being used by the devil. She said as a mother you should speak to your child while they are still in your belly, you should declare in the Spiritual realm that no one that will come out of your bosom will be unruly.If after they are born you see your children go in an unpleasant direction  Pastor said you should close yourself up in your room and declare the promises of God upon them. She went further to say that as women we have to practice excellence, excellence in how we dress, how we pray, how we serve our husbands, excellence in our jobs etc. I have seen my mom do the above,you just have to look at the seed that came out of her to know. I am proud to be her daughter!
